Heel and toe grounders |
Shoe grounding straps provide dissipation of static charges for mobile personnel in such areas as wave soldering, kitting and QC. These reusable straps provide a continuous ground path between shoes and static-protected floors. A conductive rubber strap fits over the heel or toe and conductive nylon strap makes contact with the operator's body. Straps will no stick to shoes and feature a stretchy, adjustable band that guarantees a comfortable, secure fit for all day long. All models have build-in 1 Mohm resistor for added protection.
How Foot Grounders Work |
Foot grounders discharge static from a person to ground by connecting the person to a grounded walking surface. A conductive ribbon placed inside the wearer’s shoe or sock makes electrical contact with the skin through perspiration. The ribbon is joined to a resistor which limits current should accidental exposure to electricity occur. The other end of the resistor is joined to a conductive sole. This sole contacts a grounded ESD floor mat or ESD flooring system. Foot grounders must be worn on both feet to maintain ground contact while walking. | ![]() |
